Steve Alderman
Age: 38
Hometown: Meridian, Idaho
Occupation: Tile Contractor; Video and Television Production Company
Area of Expertise: Mule Deer
Favorite Hunting Method: Spot and Stalk Muzzleloader Hunting.

Steve was raised in Glenns Ferry, Idaho and started Mule Deer hunting with his father at the age of 12. He was the pusher on these hunts while his father was the shooter. In high school mule deer hunting mature bucks became a passion that persists today. Steve borrowed his first muzzleloader from a friend's father and was hooked on the challenge of short range hunting.
Steve moved to Boise in 1989 to play college football for Boise State University, but still found himself chasing big Mulies with his front stuffer on the weekends. Steve picked up a bow and arrow after college and fell in love with the sport. There is just something special about the challenge of getting close.
Steve has been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel North America hunting and filming Mule Deer from Canada to Mexico and everywhere in between. Steve holds the number 2 archery buck in Alberta, Canada and the number 1 muzzleloader buck from Old Mexico. Steve is very proud of his accomplishments, but they all come second to his family and five year old son, Bennett.
In 1995, Steve joined the Deer Hunters o f Idaho where he sat on the Board of Directors for 2 years. He was then Vice President for 4 years and President for 2 years. In 2005, Steve became the Chapter Chair for the Mule Deer Foundation, Bennett Hills Chapter. Under his direction, the local 2007 Mule Deer Foundation event was one of the highest net to gross banquets in the nation. He looks forward to serving on the National Board of Directors for the Mule Deer Foundation. He believes that conservation is the key to helping out the deer herds in Idaho and nationwide.
Steve loves spending time outdoors with friends and family. Camping with his wife, Amy, and his son, Bennett, is his new favorite pastime. He knows the more time spent in the outdoors and scouting with his family, will pass along his love of the outdoors, mule deer and the hunting heritage.

Jake Shea
Age: 36
Hometown: Boise, Idaho
Occupation: Chemical Services Micron Technology
Favorite Hunting Method: Heavy glassing/archery spot and stalk

Jake was blessed to be raised here in the Boise Valley, He was introduced to hunting by family members before he was legally able to hunt. At the age of 12 Jake started hunting waterfowl and pheasants along the banks of the Snake River and rifle hunting for deer in the Owyhee Mountains. At the age of fourteen a friend introduced Jake to archery and took him hunting elk and deer the following archery season. During Jake's sophmore year of high school an injury left him unable to wrestle or play football making archery his number one sport. Mature mulies became Jake's interists in the late 90's here in Idaho, Oregon and Nevada. Hunting has introduced Jake to several great poeple and has created several outing with family and friend. During the 2000'S Jake has been able to harvest a couple of Pope and Young muleys to add to his hunting goals. He is happy with his in the field accomplishments but loves to do anything in the outdoors with his family and friends. He was introduced to the Mule Deer Foundation in 2001 thanks to Steve Alderman where he has became a solid member and contributes as much as he can. He looks forward to getting his three daughters in the hunting world when they become of age. Jakes very lovely and understanding wife keeps the fort attended on most of his hunting adventures but loves the outdoors. He feels strongly about the culture that brought him to his place in this world, the hunters, the providers, the gatherers, the leaders, the bone collectors. Hunting is our heritage, forever live our brotherhood!!!!

Ronnie Gaines

I consider myself an all around archer, meaning that I enjoy hunting, target archery, field and 3D competition.  However, my passion has always been in the hunting arena.  My tournament accomplishments include top three finishes in the State NFAA Indoor Men’s Pro Division; second place finishes in the State ISB 3D tournament, a six place finish at the National 3D Marked Yardage Championships NFAA division and a top three finish at the first leg of the IBO NW Triple Crown Championships.

I have been fortunate to have taken a number of nice trophies and Pope & Young qualifying animals including elk, black bear, mule deer, caribou, whitetail, turkey and antelope.  I have been a Dealer Rep shooter for Hoyt for more than fifteen years.  Other sponsors include Easton / Beman, Winner’s Choice Custom Bowstrings, Carter Enterprises, and Innerloc Broadheads.  Other accomplishments include elk calling titles in the Open pro division and the Idaho State Grand Championship.  I also write archery hunting articles for the Bowhunter.net website.

In addition to hunting and target archery, I teach kids archery classes through local pro shops, including the Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) team from Oregon, assist 4-H archery kids, “Women in the Outdoors” and “Kids Outdoors” through the National Wild Turkey Federation.  One of the greatest benefits of being in the outdoors is it allows me the opportunity to study my art subjects and create wildlife bronzes based on my observation of their true and natural environment.

Bryce DeForest
Age: 34
Hometown: Nampa, Idaho
Occupation: Engineering Technician for Micron Technology

Area of Expertise:  Mule Deer and Elk Hunting
Favorite Hunting Method: Spot and Stalk Hunting.  Heavy glassing to find bucks in their hideouts.

Bryce was raised in Pingree, Idaho and started hunting with his father at the age of 9.  Following his father’s footsteps helped Bryce gain the valuable knowledge that he would later use to become a successful hunter.  He has been hunting ever since, spanning most of the western states for numerous big game animals.

Not being the luckiest guy in the draws, not one tag to be exact from his own state of Idaho, Bryce had to figure a way to consistently harvest bucks on general season tags.  Using the knowledge he has picked up from biologists, family, fellow hunters, and any source he could get his hands on has made him successful at this tall feat.

Bryce is usually found in the outdoors with his beautiful wife Sarah and favorite hunting partner, his 7 year old son Kawika.
